Portrait of Claude Roberjot (1752-1799), was a French politician and a member of the Convention Nationale. Below the portrait a frieze depicting the assassination of Roberjot, close to Rastatt.
Etching (frieze) and aquatint (portrait) on wove paper, sheet size 318 x 469 mm., platemark 284 x 436 mm., aquatint by Charles Levachez (active 1760-1820), etching by Jean Duplessi-Bertaux (1750-1818) after his own design, 1800.
An interesting sheet, mixing two graphic techniques for very different effects. In good condition, the margins soiled and with small tears and some paper loss (one tear extending a little into the image area). A crease from the right to the bottom margin, crossing the text below the images.
