Leiden (Lugduni Batavorum), ex officina Iohannes Maire, 1630, small octavo (11.5×6 cm), full parchment binding with yap edges, engraved title page and (faded) handwritten title on spine, blue coloured edges, handsewn headbands intact, closure ribbons are lost, but it is visible where they used to be, 514+[17] pp., there is an error in the pagenumbers where 389 follows 380, but there is no loss of text, beautifully bound and still in good condition. With a handwritten note on the titlepage: ‘Castrensis, Dono D. Balth. Moreti’. The book was gifted by Balthasar Moretus (1574-1641). He was a Flemish printer and head of the Officina Plantiniana, the printing company established by his grandfather Christophe Plantin in Antwerp in 1555.
