Bruxelles, Meline, Cans et Cie, 1837, 232 pp, hardcover binding with two types of paper and blue/green linen on the corners. The binding is worn along the spine and the edges, the bookblock is foxed. With original reading ribbon and headbands. There is an illustration on the titlepage, and 4 pages with engravings depicting various animals (plates 9-12).
This copy was a awarded to miss A. de Ranitz by the ‘Institut pour de jeunes demoiselles sous la direction de S.J.A. Luymes née Gampert te Harderwijk’ (prijsband). There is a fold out official document of this award (prix), with red wax seal, sewn with the bookblock. This document is dated to 30-06-1842 and is signed by president G. Lamers and the secretary.
