View on the Canal Grande in Venice with some gondolas; gentlemen conversing in the foreground. On the right and on the left large palaces. Very cloudy sky. For this impression the title has been left out. It would have read: ‘Canal Grando zu Venedig wa die Gondoli al Fresco fahren’ [litterally translated:’Canal Grande where the gondolas can travel in a fresher temperature]. From a collection of prints published by Küsel in 1670, titled: ‘Ioannis Guilielmi Baurn, Iconographia….’ showing ‘capricci’ and views from Italian cities and statues.
