Den Haag, W.P. van Stockum en Zoon, 1915, 11 pages, original paper binding (book was folded) good state, extremely angry and hostile reply by Jhr. Mr. Victor de Stuers (1843-1916) on a criticism by Prof. W. Vogelsang about the collection of copies of Dutch statues originally collected by De Stuers and in possesion of Rijksmuseum. De Stuers did not only attack Prof. Vogelsang in this brochure but also in letters to newspapers etc. This affair did not enhance his profile in the year before his death. This book comes with several contemporary newspaperclippings of letters by S. Muller Fzn, Jan Kalf and Victor de Stuers himself from 1915 adressing this matter. Rare collection of a battle of giants within the cultural world in 1915.
