Amsterdam, Paulus Matthysz., 1652, 12mo., full parchment spitsel binding (spitselband) with handwritten title on spine, [14]+224 pp., parchment of the front cover is damaged (a strip is missing from the top), on the inside the endpapers have come loose exposing the cardboard, but otherwise the construction is solid, some stains on the cover and the endpapers but the printwork is without stains. Woodcut vignette on titlepage, some beautiful endpieces and decorative initials. Gothic and Roman fonts are combined. In the table of content, some notes have been made and words underlined. Ex libris: I.H. Verheijen, second ex libris (written upside down): Joh. vd Steen 1888. It seems to be a very rare book (as noted in an old hand in Dutch: ‘zeer zeldzaam’ and ‘raar’). It is only available in two Dutch university libraries (Leiden and Amsterdam).
