In Latin, originally published in 1628. Jeremias Drexel S.J. (also known as Hieremias Drexelius or Drechsel) (August 15, 1581 – 19 April 1638) was a Jesuit writer of devotional literature and a professor of the humanities and rhetoric. He served for 23 years as court preacher in Munich.

(I) Blaeu?], 1633, 8vo., original full parchment spitsel binding with handwritten title on spine and red sprinkled edges, [12]+335+[8] pp., in excellent condition with only lightly smudged parchment and clear printwork with only a few minor (ink) stains, front flyleaf missing. With an engraved titlepage and three more engravings – each introducing a new chapter – with a memento mori theme, depicting three stages of life with a skeleton, ax and hourglass.
