19th wax seal as used on the correspondence by Gerard van Neck Esquire ('s-Gravenhage, 1692 – Putney, 1750) who was an influential Dutch-British banker and merchant and Joshua Vanneck, 1st Baronet of Putney ('s-Gravenhage, 1702 – Putney, 6 maart 1777) who also was an influential Dutch-British merchant and banker and the owner of Heveningham Hall. Mr. Gerard Nicolaas Hasselaer (1728-1797) was a mayor of Amsterdam. Joachim Rendorp, Vrijheer of Marquette (19 January 1728 in Amsterdam – 21 September 1792 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch politician of the Patriottentijd in the Dutch Republic. This letter was written at the time when Amsterdam merchants were negociating the loans to the Americans.
