Amsterdam, Gerrit van Goedesberg, 1652, 12mo., full parchment spitselbinding with yap edges, +438+ pp., the endpapers have ruffled edges and the parchment has some stains, apart from a waterstain in the centre of the book (at the bottom) the bookblock is in good condition with clear printwork, solid binding with original headbands. With an engraved titlepage (with a variant spelling of the title) depicting the seven heraldic crests of the united low countries with their handwritten names added in ink, and four portraits also with handwritten names added below (Wilhelm, Maurits, Fredrich H., Wilhelm).
With several handwritten notes of ownership: ‘J. Garges 1653’, ‘W. Jonckers, den 27 Juli 1767 (?)’ and ’25 Maart 2011, Amsterdam, Jelle Kaspersma & Alie Vinke, Kampen’.
