Amsterdam, Jan ten Hoorn, 1699, 8vo., full parchment spitsel binding, [18]+459+[17] pp., in excellent condition, solid binding with only minor staining and minimal wear and tear, engraved printer's mark on titlepage (Proficit et recreat), engraving with family crest (Spes generis) accompanying the dedication to Joan Koenerding, a large fold out page with the family tree of the house of Augustus, decorative initials and endpieces, and engraved portraits of the twelve emperors with a depiction of a relevant historic scene.
