Nieuwhoff/D. Veelwaard after H.P. Oosterhuis, age staining on fold out plates and first few pages including titlepage, some waterdamage to the text, staining, half leather binding, marbled boards, gilt lettering and ornaments on spine, top of spine damages, hinges suffering, previously owned by J.M. Stoop Jan. 1895 (written in ink on flyleaf)bookplates of Scholten Pistorius and G.P. van de Ven. From the library of Prof. Dr. G.P. van de Ven. Gerard van de Ven (1941-2017) was a prominent Dutch scholar, author and professor at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He was specialised in waterstaatsgeschiedenis (history of water management) and historical geography. He wrote many books, articles and contributed to many publications.
