Corneli(u)s Rudolphus Theodorus baron Krayenhoff, also Kraijenhoff (Nijmegen, 2 June 1758 – 24 November 1840) was a Dutch physicist, doctor, general, engineer, cartographer and minister for war. This book comes with handwritten notes concerningthe private life of Krayemnhof by ‘E.E.G.’, an engraved portrait from Zillesen by C. Josi 1799 (soiled and torn), a typewriiten reproduction of an order by Krayenhoff and two newspaperclippings from 1914 concerning the transfer of the remains of Krayenhof from the Diutch East Indies to Nijmegen (the Netherlands). From the library of Prof. Dr. G.P. van de Ven. Gerard van de Ven (1941-2017) was a prominent Dutch scholar, author and professor at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He was specialised in waterstaatsgeschiedenis (history of water management) and historical geography. He wrote many books, articles and contributed to many publications.
