Etching on laid paper, by Ernst Willem Jan Bagelaar, probably after his own design, executed ca. 1815-1820, platemark 104 x 118 mm., sheet size 137 x 213 mm.
Although Bagelaar (1775-1837) was originally an army man, he soon turned to a life of art after instructing himself in etching, basing many of the etchings on his own designs.
