Oval bust of Louis Moréri (1643-1680), a French priest and encyclopedist.
Etching and engraving with stipple on hand laid paper. Sheet size 248 x 385 mm., platemark 220 x 328 mm. Engraved by Gerard Edelinck (1640-1707) after Fraçois de Troy (1645-1730). This portrait was published in Moréri's 'Le grand dictionaire historique', Lyon: J. Gyrin et B. Rivière, 1683.
In good condition, some creases in the margins, left edge browned, right edge unevenly cut (probably while removing from the book).
