Oval portrait of the author Jean de la Fontaine (1621-1695).
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 247 x 329 mm., platemark 220 x 287 mm., engraved by Gerard Edelinck (1640-1707) after Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659-1743).
In good condition, margins lightly soiled, a small nick in the left margin. some creases in the corners. A faint dampstain in the lower edge of the image.
