Oval portrait of (probably) Jules Raymond Mazarin in his role of Cardinal. Unusually, in this portrait the portrayed person looks away to the side, instead of straight at the viewer.
Etching and engraving on hand laid paper. Sheet size (highest and widest point) 139 x 113 mm.
Anonymous engraving, possibly a book illustration.
In very good condition, although cropped within platemark (with minimal loss of the border around the image).
