Engraving on laid paper, sheet size 210 x 159 mm. Engraved by Bernard Picart after Gerard Soest, published in Amsterdam 1724. This print was used in a publication: Burnet, Gilbert. Histoire des dernières révolutions d'Angleterre. The Hague: Jean Neaulme, 1725.
Bernard Picart (Paris 1673-1733 Amsterdam) was a famous French draughtsman, engraver, and book illustrator active in Amsterdam.
Gerard Soest (Soest 1605-1681 London) was a Dutch-born English painter. From 1645 he is active in London. He made mainly portraits in oil paint. John Riley and William Reader were students of Soest.
In good condition, attached to carrier sheet by all four corners. Margins cropped to the platemark. Some faint general soiling in the edges. The image itself fine.
