Portrait of Johann Friedrich Kind, bust-length, turned and looking to the left. Johann Friedrich Kind (Leipzig 1768-1843 Dresden) was a German playwright, most famous for writing the libretto for Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz.
Engraving on wove paper, sheet size 244 x 158 mm. By an anonymous engraver. Published in Meyers Konversationslexikon, c. 1850.
In good condition, a faint dampstain in the lower half of the sheet (partly covering the image area), right margin uneven from binding, a small stain in the top right margin corner.
