Oval bust-length portrait of Guillaume du Vair (1556-1621), a French bishop, author, lawyer, Magistrate of the Parliament and Keeper of the Seals of France under French king Louis XIII.
Engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 160 x 119 mm., platemark 148 x 110 mm. Engraved by Monogrammist AP after Monogrammist N.H. Published by Michel Odieuvre, Paris, c. 1760.
In very good condition, the lower margin cropped to the platemark. Lower right margin corner with minimal paper loss.
