Beschrijving
Original portrait, showing the 9,5×6,3cm (framed in gilt 19th century frame), original watercolour portrait, aquarel portret, of Jasper Jacobus van Leeuwen van Duivenbode (Sijbekarspel/Medemblik 1812-Drumpt/Tiel 1888) son of Willem Karel Maurits van Leeuwen van Duivenbode and Katharina Elisabeth Sylvanis. He married Anne Louise Soetens (Vierlingsbeek 1813- Graft 1851, daughter of Soetens and Van Nahuijs) in 1836 at Vierlingsbeek. He was a medical doctor and fought during the Tiendaagse Veldtocht and/or the uprising of the Belgian revolutionaries.Van Leeuwen is depicted in a uniform of – most likely – the navy and wears the ribbon of the Metalen Kruis 1830-1831. On the reverse of the portrait there are some biographical notes about the depicted.
