Plates are complete and very attractive. This is the scarce first edition of this interesting work on natural history. Scarce. According to Worldcat only in 8 libraries. Cf. Nissen ZBI 588; Espenhorst (Engl.) p.805-808 (‘richly illustrated’, ‘huge international success’). Nice plates showing a large variety of animals, flowers and minerals, and two plates of the heads/ skulls of different human races and the human skeleton and internal body parts.
