Bust-length portrait of Pope Caius (?-296), the 28th pope (wrongly numbered the 29th in the caption).
Engraving on hand laid paper, sheet size 31 x 20 cm., platemark 28 x 18 cm. Engraved by Frederik Bouttats (Antwerp, 1621-1676), for Cornelius Hazart's publication 'Triomph der Pausen van Roomen over alle hare Benyders ende Bestryders …' (Antwerp: Michiel Knobbaert, 1678).
In good condition, minimal paper loss in the top right corner, outside of image area. Some general creasing and discolouration in the margins.
