Beschrijving
Wiert Adels was a Dutch helmsman on a kogge ship, which was destined for Amsterdam with a cargo of rye and wheat from Libau, deserves an honorable mention here for his remarkable display of courage. During the war with France, at the end of the previous century, this ship was captured by a Dunkirk privateer on August 1, 1794, ten miles off the Dutch coast.
