Gent, Alfons Lieven Dierick (privately printed), 1996, second improved edition, some pages text and 36 plates, original linen binding, gilt edges, original illustrated dustwrapper, bookplate of the author in the book, handwritten dedication by the author to Henk (Hendrik Willem) van Os (28 February 1938 – 14 June 2025) who was a Dutch art historian. He served as professor of Art and Cultural History, director of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and presenter of television programs on art. He inserted two additional printed publications: The Ghent altarpiece: new thoughts on its original display by Griet Steyaert (Burlington Magazine) and Vision in text and image, the cultural turn in the study of arts, Herman W. Hoen and Mary G. Kemperink, 33-52pp. both without binding.
