Lot of various engravings depcting scenes from the life of Gijsbrecht van Amstel. Gijsbrecht IV of Amstel or Gijsbrecht IV van Amstel (c. 1235 – c. 1303) was a powerful lord in the medieval County of Holland and a member of the Van Aemstel family. His territory was Amstelland, and his son was Jan I of Amstel.
Joost van den Vondel made a play about his life.
The lot consists of various engravings depicting Gijsbrecht van Amstel's life, including: the surrender of his castle in Vreeland and count Floris V offering Gijsbrecht van Amstel the Sint Geertenminne.
