Paris, Hachette, 1938, 254pp. hardcover contemporary binding made in Het Apeldoornsche Bosch with original front on front, Marie Walewska, Countess Walewska (7 December 1786 – 11 December 1817) was a Polish noblewoman in the court of Napoleon I who used her influence to sway the emperor towards the creation of an independent Polish state. In her later years she married count Philippe Antoine d'Ornano, an influential Napoleonic officer.Het Apeldoornsche Bosch was a Jewish psychiatric hospital from 1909 to 1943 located at the Zutphensestraat in Apeldoorn. In 1943 the hospital was cleared by the nazi's and all patiënts and staff were deported concentrationcamps and most of them were killed.
