Joseph Jean Baptiste Fleuriau d'Armenonville was a French politician who built a successful career in government and finance during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Born in Paris, he entered public service in 1683 through family connections and worked in financial administration before becoming a councillor in the Parlement of Metz. He later returned to finance, became Director-General of Finances in 1701, and was promoted to Conseiller d'État in 1705.
He served as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs from 1716, although real control of foreign policy was held by Cardinal Dubois. In 1718, he also became Secretary of State for the Navy and remained in office until 1722, after which his son, Charles Jean Baptiste Fleuriau de Morville, succeeded him in several important government roles. Fleuriau d'Armenonville later served as keeper of the seals until his resignation in 1727.
