Beschrijving
Amsterdam, Phlip Verbeek, 1714, 8vo., 2nd edition, full leather binding with ribbed spine, faded tooling on the spine, [18]+392+56 pp., the binding is suffering: the front cover is loose, the spine is worn with some loss of leather at the head and tail of the spine exposing the head bands, the endpapers have some damage, the book block is solid, some (water)stains, some folded corners, browning of the pages, page 255 has a tear in the margin, but I did not come across any tears in the textpages. There is an engraved titlepage, an engraved portrait of Jan Zoet, some decorative woodcut initials and an endpiece. This book contains Jan Zoet's description of the ‘Oranjezaal’ in Paleis Huis ten Bosch, including an engraved fold out map of this famous hall with paitings depicting the heroism of the family of Orange-Nassau.
Bound with: ‘Hel en hemel, of poëtische vertooningen (…)’ by Jan Zoet, Amsterdam, Philip Verbeek, 1714. With a separate titlepage.
