Beschrijving

Amsterdam, Hendrik Stockink en Gysbert Rykman, 1728, 8vo., full leather limp binding (added on top of the original paper binding), the handwritten title on the spine has faded, [16]+552+[8] pp., the pages of the bookblock have uncut edges, the book feels solid, no loose pages, just some stains and folded corners. In the front a strip of paper is pasted in with information about the former owners: ‘A. J. v.d. Poest Clement, Uit de bibliotheek der voorouders van Jacob de Graaff burgemeester te Sommelsdijk (…) 1 Maart 1855’. With an engraved portrait of Catherine (Iak. Houbraken), an engraved vignet (printer's mark) on the titlepage (B. Picart), with lovely woodcut decorative elements, a fold out map entitled: ‘Plan van de Actie by de R de Pruth den 21 en 22 Julij 1711’, and a fold out overview of a family tree starting with De Hertog Godhard and Anna van Mekelenburg.
