The Virgin and Child with the infant Baptist, traditionally known as the ‘Madonna of the Blue Diadem’, with the Virgin lifting a veil from over the Christ child, while holding an arm over the shoulders of St John the Baptist; after a painting formerly attributed to Raphael, now to an artist from his studio (possibly Penni). Numbered at the bottom center: ‘551’ with address of the seller: ‘Paris, 61 rue de Vaugirard’
