[NL] Begrafenis van Amalia van Solms te Delft, op twee prenten. De voorstelling op de eerste prent behelst de tocht van de lijkstoet met flambouwen uit Den Haag naar Delft, met Den Haag aan de horizon. Daarboven drie kleinere taferelen: het lijck uytgedragen”, “het bedt van parade” en “het lijck ter aerde bestelt”. Op de tweede prent ziet men de stoet op de markt van Delft. In de eerste stoet rijden rijtuigen, in de tweede gaat het te voet. Beide prenten (of één van beide) zijn gebruikt als (gevouwen) illustratie in het pamflet ‘Lyk-predikatie op de begrafenisse van ‘de princesse douariere d’Orange’ door P. van Balen, ’s Gravenhage, J. Doll 1676. Dit pamflet is zeer zeldzaam en bijna altijd zijn de platen er niet meer bij aanwezig. Landwehr (Spl. Cer.) spreekt over één plaat. In zijn bibiografie van boekillustraties noemt hij het werkje van Van Balen niet. ongesigneerd, ‘zonder naam van Rom. de Hooghe, doch zonder twijfel van hem’ (Muller). The representation on the first plate covers the funeral procession with torches from The Hague to Delft with the city of The Hague on the background. Three additional smaller scenes above the title: ‘LYKSTATIE VAN HARE HOOGHEYT/DE PRINCESSE DOUARIERE.’. The first representing a portion of the procession is inscribed above: ‘HET LYCK UYTGEDRAGEN’. In the second picture the woman on her death bed is entitled ‘HET BEDT VAN PARADE’, and finally ‘KUT LYCK TER AERDE BESTELT’ shows the end of the procession in the church in Delft. On the second folio is the representation of the procession on the market of Delft. Both prints (or either) are used (folded) as illustration in pamphlet ‘Lyk-predikatie op de begrafenisse van ‘de princesse douariere d’Orange’ by P. van Balen, published in The Hague by J. Doll in 1676. This pamphlet is very rare and most of the times plates are no longer present. Landwehr (Spl. Cer.) mentions only a single plate. In his bibliography of book illustrations there is no mention of Van Balen. ‘zonder naam van Rom. de Hooghe, doch zonder twijfel van hem’ [name of Rom.
