Bust portrait of the antiquarian Godescalcus Stewechius (1551-1586) at the age of 32, holding a glove in his right hand. Oval frame inscribed: ‘GODESCALCVS STEWECHIVS. ANNO AETATIS XXXII HGoltzius fecit A. 1583′(HG monogrammed). This engraving was included by Plantin in the 1585 edition of ‘Commentarius ad Flavii Vegetii De re militari’ by the same Stewechius. On the verso in fact traces of the decorated title of part II of the publication.
