First edition of this plate, later reworked and published in Paris by Basan. Two children are portrayed while dancing on the stage; the inscription reads: ‘PYGMALION, of HET BEELD BEZIELD DOOR DE LIEFDE; zo als hetzelve door CAROLINA en CHARLOTTA FREDERIC, oud 9 en 7 Jaaren, op den Amsteldamschen Schouwburg, in het laatste des Jaars 1758, getanst is….’ signed on the bottom: ‘G. van der Myn ad vivum delineavit. / J. Punt sculpsit, 1759.’ with address at the bottom: ’te Amsterdam By J. Punt in den Schouwburg.’ Schouwburg Amsterdam.
