This witty book tells the story of a witch called Amalia, who leaves home to take the road to a witch convention. While she is away the cunning fox Reinaard tries to rent out her place, which results in a lot of confusion and hilarity. The story is beautifully illustrated by Spreekmeester (1914-2000). He uses a stamp-like style that gives a feathery effect to his pictures. The bright colours that he uses in his full-page illustrations complement this style in a great way. B2368
