This hand coloured optical view shows a busy street in the Chinese city of Nanking. The street in lined by buildings with eastern looking rooftops and large pillars with natural symbols in front of them. On the street merchants in eastern clothing sell their goods and inhabitants look at a performance. Although this print is not in the best state, it catches the eye because of the extraordinary use of colour and its oriental theme. The city of Nanking is now mainly known for its horrible history (The Nanking Massacre, 1937) Sticker on the back with specifications about the print.

Fold in the middle of the plate. The bottom of the print itself shows some holes, which have been repaired with see through tape. Fair condition.
