Handwritten pedigree chart showing 8 generations starting with Willem van Nijhoff and his wife (and cousin) Wilhelmina van der Aa. The last mentioned offspring is Arend Willem van Nijhoff (8 October 1676). He was a commander on a ship in wartime. He died at the Mediterranean Sea and is buried on the Dutch island Texel as the last male heir of this family. The chart contains a handpainted family crest in blue and yellow with three flowers. One folded paper leaf (34×21.5 cm), with a seperate catalogue page concerning a heraldic painting from 1670 that was auctioned in 1993 by Bubb Kuyper (Haarlem). The painting shows the Nijhoff family crest next to 7 other family crests.
