A farmer directs a hay cart pulled by two oxen to the right of this print, where we see a large column topped with a lion. A faint riverside town in the background.
Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 195 x 239 mm., engraved by Albert Meyering (or Meyeringh) after his own design, c. 1690. Albert Meyering (1645-1714) specialised in classical landscapes.
In very good condition, cropped within platemark, a faint dampstain in the top right corner of the image.
