Titlepage in black and red ink, woodcut vignette on both titlepages. Contemporary full vellum binding with yap edges and sprinkled edges, the closure ribbons that must have been present judging by the attachment holes have been lost, top of the spine gone, damage to outer hinges, tear on bottom of spine continuing on the back with loss of vellum, written in ink on flyleaf: ‘Ad usum Jacobi van Caverson Ao 1664’ possibly Jacobus Franciscus van Caverson (Brussels) who was a magistrate, written by Charles Loyseau (1564-1627) who was a French jurist, a lawyer in the Parlement of Paris, the highest royal court in France, as well as a judge in local and seigneurial courts.
