Aquatint portrait in etched decorative border, on hand laid paper, sheet size 232 x 174 mm. Engraved by Louis Jean Allais after Jacques Delaplace, published in the series 'Collection générale des Portraits de MM. les Députés à l'Assemblée Nationale Constituante, tenue à Versailles le 4. Mai 1789'. This series was published by Nicolas-François Le Vachez in 1789.
Louis Jean Allais (1762-1833) was a French engraver and printmaker in aquatint.
Jacques Delaplace (Vernon 1767-after 1831) was a French (court) painter and miniature portrait painter.
In very good condition, cropped within platemark. Some faint soiling in the margin edges. A small spot in the border around the portrait.
