Engraving of Lucas Ambrosius. Lucas Ambrosius (c. 1570-1628) was a Dutch Reformed minister. He began his career around 1595 and served in various locations, including Muiden, before becoming a minister in Amsterdam in 1609. He was closely involved in the theological debates of his time and played a role surrounding the Synod of Dort. Several historical portraits of this respected theologian still exist.
