Beschrijving
Amsterdam, Joannes Kannewet, without year. First published in 1635, this is a later edition, probably between 1735 and 1741. 12mo., full leather binding (powders a little) that seems to have been placed over the original half linen and marbled paper binding. [12]+589+[1] pp., the book is in worn condition. A new binding was added to the existing one, a cloth hinge was added on the inside of the front cover to reinforce the connection between binding and bookblock, worn and folded corners, the section of pages 229-260 is damaged considerably with torn (229-232, 237-244, 249-252, 255-260) and missing (234-236, 245-248, 253-254) pages. According to the title there should be ’twee collatien der wandelende ziele met Adam en Noach’, these collations are present (1-180 pp.) but they are followed by ‘Collatie der wandelende Ziele met Symeon Cleophas’ (181-589 pp.) in four parts. On titlepages in other editions I've found, Symeon Cleophas was also mentioned on the titlepage.
This edition has a woodcut titlepage, some woodcut initials and endpieces and 9 woodcut illustrations.
