Gulliver’s reizen naar verschillende verre landen, door Jonathan Swift. Ned. bewerking G. Blom. Geïllustreerd door Rein van Looy. Haarlem, J. H. Gottmer & Co. , 1940.

Gulliver’s Travels, written by Jonathan Swift (1667-1745) is primarily a sharp satire on the English society, science and human morality. It is also a parody of the travel stories of the seventeenth century. It is considered to be Swift’s masterpiece and a classic of English literature. It has also become a popular children’s book, for which the first two parts were processed, and the less decent scenes have been removed. This particular version is translated into Dutch by G. Blom. The illustrations are by Rein van Looy (Reindert Johannes Cornelis, 1910-1994) who became very popular in the Netherlands as the artist behind Pinkeltje. B2342
