Watercolours and bodycolour on velin, 193 x 268 mm. Monogrammed and dated lower right ‘J.W.B. 76’ [1876]. Annotated lower left ‘Copie J.F. Hoppenbrouwers’. Two very small, unobtrusive spots in the sky area, otherwise in excellent condition. For Hoppenbrouwers: Scheen, p. 227.
Op voorraad
Several alterations have been made in comparison to the original, cf. the number of boats on the river, or the small strip of land in the foreground. After Hoppenbrouwers “Souvenir du Rhin” (ca. 1840-1866) in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
